Liam gave us a really good night last night - only 2 feedings during the actual night! He went from about 9:30 PM to 1:30 AM sleeping straight through, and then he slept again until about 4:30. He woke up somewhere around 7 being kind of grumpy, but settled back in again for another hour after that. Oddly enough, I feel more tired than usual... not sure how that works.
We gave him a bath this morning after he'd been up a couple hours. He was just starting to fall asleep, and the warm water only seemed to want to send him farther into dreamland. Thank goodness Andy was around, because I wasn't getting the usual help from the little guy in the bath. He's normally great about holding his head up if I have my hand on his chest, and the two of us working together keeps him upright. Today, he was just sliding all over the place. Andy ended up having to hold his head for most of the bath. More peeling on his scalp after his bath, but we could also see the hair getting longer in his bald spots, too!
This afternoon, we went up to Rowley to celebrate my dad's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! He got a ton of Liam time, including a couple bottles and some awake play time. Liam was totally fascinated with the ceiling while Grandpa was feeding him...I didn't realize how boring our white ceiling was until I saw how much time he spent looking at the wood. The little guy got to show off his growing neck control, his crazy kicking (this may have been in part due to Andy watching Fists of Fury with the baby this morning), and the beginnings of smiles that he's been working on developing for the last couple days.
