Updates

Thanks to the videographer for keeping up when the usual writer falls down on the job. :)

We've been busy here. There's a lot of falling going on, a lot of head conking & bum bumping. We have "better bear" (short for "feel better bear"), our bear shaped ice pack, out almost every day, sometimes twice a day, to soothe the noggin. Its getting better (or worse, maybe) - he falls more, but he's learning how to fall better. I guess this is what it takes to learn to walk. Its an amazing process, really. Almost daily I can see him figuring out better where the shortest distance is between two pieces of furniture or just how far he can stretch before he's going to fall. He's also realizing more what he's doing & getting happier about it, which is cool to watch. Its his own happy little personal celebration, and the success matters more than all the clapping in the world from others. :) Daddy and I are busy running around trying to remove some of the bigger obstacles that he likes to throw down in his own path, though, and provide the extra TLC required for the bad falls.

He's also getting more involved in the world around him and figuring out processes and sequences. He spent probably a good 15 minutes in CVS today trying to follow around a kid who was stocking shelves out of plastic bins. Get the item from the bin, scan it, stack it on the shelf. Repeat. They said he could have a job in a few years. :)

Did you know babies don't have sinuses? I didn't.... Li has been struggling with a cold and is unfortunately on his way (according to the doctor) to a bacterial nose infection, which is basically what babies get in place of a sinus infection, and an ear infection. He's on amoxycillin for the next 10 days. I think he's feeling better already, though. I figured I'd better call today given the rain forecast. I'm guessing we're going to be blocked in again.
