The weekend after that was Aunt Kate & Uncle Andy's bridal open house at Grandpa and Grandma Wallen's. I can't find Andy's pictures with the lucky couple, but here's one of Liam pushing a gift box around on the floor. That's Grand-aunt Ginny and Grand-aunt Jane in the background. He got to meet all his grand-aunts and grand-uncles on the Wallen side, and I think he took each and every one of them on a walking tour around the house. Well, not exactly around the house... it was to the dog in the kitchen, back to the living room where everyone was, back to the dog, back to the living room, back to the dog... I think there must be a groove worn in the floor after all the repeat trips.

Andy took an extra day off to recover from the trip (and we needed it!). Since it was a beautiful day, we took a trip to the playground. It was crawling with kids due to it being school vacation week. Liam did luck out and get into the sandbox when it was empty. It didn't stay that way for long...

This past weekend was sheep shearing. It was a pretty exciting day. Liam wasn't so sure about the sound of the clippers at first, but he settled right in and watched all four sheep get shorn. Daddy, Uncle George, and Grandpa were pretty tired after fighting sheep all day! Uncle George bit one, and Daddy got run over by a few, from what I heard.
Liam's appetite has been getting better and better for solids. He had peas, pears, corn, and a little bit of cornbread dumpling for dinner tonight, along with some of the chicken stew liquids from Daddy's bowl. We've run out of frozen breast milk and my pumping isn't producing as much fresh, so the doctor advised us to start switching him to cow's milk. He's battling some constipation right now that's causing going to be painful, but apparently its pretty common and should pass in a couple days.
Sometimes other people who don't know what to expect from your baby can have confidence in skills that you don't. While we were up at Casa Wallen in NY, Grand-uncle Warren pointed Liam at Daddy, who was sitting a few feet away on the floor, and let go, with a "Go to Daddy". To our surprise, Liam did just that. He stumbled a few steps and fell into Daddy's open arms. He was SO happy with himself. He's not walking yet, exactly, but he's going a few unsteady steps between pieces of furniture now, and we're continuing to periodically play what we've termed "Pass the Baby".
Tooth number 2 has broken the gumline, and tooth 3 is visible as a white dot just below the surface. Shouldn't be long now. These teeth are SHARP!
This coming weekend is our first free weekend in a bit, and apparently its going to be quite warm. I bet Liam can't wait to get back to just a onesie!
