Can it really be February already?

Wow, so much to catch up on!  I finally sat down today and took all the photos off my phone.  Like anything else I procrastinate over, the long I put off doing the task, the longer it takes to actually get it done.  Five months' worth of photos... geesh!

Anyway, I picked the best to put up here.  Andy also shot a video of Liam playing with blocks today.  He's usually gibbering like a crazy monkey these days (we've started to move into the more obscure & abstract words now - his new words were 'hunt' and 'black' today, and he picked up 'dude' and 'hope' last week and has been using those quite a bit).  Sadly, he was concentrating on his building and only threw out a 'choo-choo' in the video.  That's one of his favorite words, along with 'up', 'down', 'in', 'kitty', 'truck', Memaw (Grandma), Pop-pop (Grandpa), 'baby', 'teddy', 'block', 'car', Mamie (Miss Amy, the children's specialist at the library), Debbie (either our next door neighbor or my friend Deb, depending on the day), 'cookie', 'hoodsie', 'wa wa' (water), 'juice', 'beep' (beep OR sheep OR sleep), and 'book'.  We hear those about 17 kabillion times a day, most of them totally nonsensically.
Me: "Liam, do you need your diaper changed?"
Liam: "Mamie."
Me: "Miss Amy needs her diaper changed?"
Liam: "Down."

Uh-huh.  Others obviously make sense to him, but they're just not helpful to me.
Me: "Liam, where is Teddy?  Do you know?"
Liam: "In."

Suuuuure.... okay.  That said, talking is WAY better than not talking.  Most of the time, I can at least get the gist of what he wants, what's wrong, etc.  He has a great comprehension, compared to what he can actually communicate, so I can tell him what we're doing, why we have to wait, and so on.  He may not like it, but at least he knows...!

Anyway, pictures.  Here's one of Liam from last fall.  It was after first frost, and he picked up a tomato that was mushy.  The insides squirted out, and he was enthralled.  All the rest of the tomatoes then fell prey to the same fate.

Liam just after Halloween.  We put a bird feeder outside the window, and he loved to watch the birds eat in the morning.  He would ask for an 'up' so that he could sit on top of the radiator cover.  He learned the words 'bat' and 'moon' when we cut out the window decorations.

The joy of chocolate pudding.  What more can I say?

Liam loves choo-choos.  We took a train ride into Boston, out of the big station in Woburn.  He LOVED it.  We stayed just long enough to grab a donut in North Station, and then we headed right back home.  This is Liam and Dada waiting for the train and then on the train.

He also loves Dada's truck.  He gets into the back and races around.  Our neighbor said its the best outdoor playpen she's ever seen.  This picture is from last fall.  I remember that that day, he was fascinated that the wet leaves would stick against the rear window.

This one is from just Friday.  Another neighbor gave him a little shovel, and he was busy shoveling snow out of the truck.  He was really enjoying the warm weather - he hasn't been much on going outside lately, what with the really cold weather, wind, and what felt like near-constant snow storms.   I think we ended up spending over two hours outside that day, since it was so warm.  The girls next door came over to play later in the afternoon, which just made his day. They totally dote on him.  Camryn, the middle sister of the three, was playing with him, and she looked up at me with her face aglow and said "He talked to me!  Liam talked to me!".  I asked what he said, and she said,"Down!  He said down!  To me!".  She was so excited.

Whew!  Okay, that's the highlights of the photo set.  Hope it was enjoyable... and that I can get this done again before another 5 months is up!
