Ah, April

Showers, flowers, and all that jazz.  Liam is talking more, climbing more, just plain DOING more, and he loves being able to go outside all the time now and spend extended periods out there.  We went hiking last weekend - here's  a picture of him standing on the remains of a set of steps, with the marsh at his back.  He did probably a mile and a quarter, with only one pick-up along the way, when we came across a garter snake sunning itself in the path.

We've been to the playground quite a bit too.  The number of other kids that we see there is growing steadily, a sure sign of warm weather coming.  Li likes pretending to be a bird on the swings (he calls "Phoebe!  Phoebe!" as he goes back and forth), playing with the diggers in the sandbox, and climbing the small set of playground equipment.  Under the big slide's platform is a car with two benches and a steering wheel.

He's also gotten old enough to be included in the "toddler" level events at the library.  We made flower pictures as part of their spring celebration a couple weeks ago, just a few days after he learned to use a glue stick all by himself.  :)

The girls next door had an old trike that they gave Liam, but it was way too big for him.  Undeterred, he still asked to get it out of the shed every nice day and would get on and off it in the driveway over and over and push it around.  We were intending to get him one for his birthday anyway, but we decided to go for it a little early given the circumstances.  Dada picked it out, and boy, did he pick it.  There was a mid-assembly hug:

And one very happy rider at the end:

Boy, does that boy love his Dada!
